Inside a yes

Commissioned by Hotam, performed by an ensemble of religious women

Inside a Yes grows out of the original text Body of a Prayer, weaving Hebrew prayer and ritual into contemporary dance. The work explores the meeting point of tradition and modernity, giving voice to quiet feminism within religious boundaries. Eight women of different life stages embody presence, limitation, and negotiation, opening a dialogue about how difference can become a source of strength.

Through this embodied prayer, Inside a Yes reveals dance as a spiritual practice, a space where faith and contemporary expression coexist. It invites audiences to witness a choreography that is both deeply personal and profoundly collective—rooted in ritual, yet reaching toward new possibilities of connection.
