Hand made
Commissioned by MiR Dance Company

Hand Made was created as a site-specific dance piece for the Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen and later became a dance film. The work looks at the mechanisms of our society and the ways we constantly influence one another—losing our sense of individuality to become part of a larger machine, where success is only possible through collaboration.

At its core lies the action of “manipulation.” Through the hands as the motor of interaction, the piece explores how touch can direct, transform, and give intention. The choreography unfolds as a sculptural dialogue between brain and body, self and other—revealing manipulation as both constructive and destructive, conscious and unconscious. Hand Made becomes a reflection on power, vulnerability, and the art of creating together.
